ESL Program
English as a Second Language (ESL) is a study program made for nonnative speakers who want to be able to think critically and communicate ideas clearly in English and demonstrate comprehension competence in English. At Manhattan English Center the ESL program is designed to be taught in small groups for each class so that students receive individual attention from their teachers, accelerating the development of the necessary skills to achieve the objectives of the course.
Another important part of the program is that students participate in cultural and social activities, where they are able to put into practice everything learn in classes.
In Manhattan English Center all programs develop the following skills:
- Conversational English
- Grammar
- Reading
- Listening
- Comprehension
- Writing
- Vocabulary
- This program is 18/hrs/week with 18 lessons/week
- Perfect for those looking to learn English on a full-time basis
- Supports those on I-20- F1 student visa
- We offer beginner, intermediate and advanced levels
- 1 week minimum enrollment
- 15 student maximum in a class
- Starts every Monday

ESL for Tourist program: Study with B1/B2 tourist visa
Those who come to the United States on a tourist visa: B1/B2, can legally study in the U.S. if the course is for a non-degree program and less than full time. M.E.C. offers semi-intensive ESL training for these visitors.
Our semi intensive ESL program allows visitors to enhance their trip to America by participating in learning the American English language and culture. We offer morning courses which allow visitors the afternoon to visit New york.
